A rare composition-headed wooden doll
with black moulded hair arranged over the ears into a plaited bun above the nape, with blue painted eyes and jointed body with pale blue painted slippers wearing home made pale blue and white checked silk skirt, underclothes and shop made dark blue velvet evening bodice trimmed with lace and blue silk bows, an original wreath of ribbon and feathers encircling her head, circa 1845 --9in. (23cm.) high (one arm detached)
