FINE WINES FROM A PRIVATE CELLAR INCLUDING MATURE VINTAGES OF CLASSED-GROWTH BORDEAUX
These bottles, lots 400 to 484, have recently been removed from the temperature-controlled storage in Dorset of a noted American collector and long established client of Christies Wine Department. The majority of bottles are of very good appearance and with levels commensurate with vintages ranging from the 1950s to the 1970s. A small proportion of the wines exhibit lower levels, perhaps due to a fairly low level of natural humidity in the storage, which although good for label preservation, can cause accelerated absorption by the cork. Corks all appear sound however with only a handful of bottles showing any sign of even minimal seepage.
