Each of rectangular form, the first with box and cover edged in thin, flat beading, the front with a square lockplate mounted flush against the surface and continuing over the beaded lip, the edges with metal reinforcements and ruyi-head mounts at the top corners, the wood of deep lustrous color; the second plain with box and cover edged in thin, flat beading, the front with a round lockplate; the third identical but smaller
The first box 2½ in. (6.3 cm.) high, 13 5/8 in. (34.7 cm.) wide, 6¾ in. (17.1 cm.) deep; the second box 3 3/8 in. (8.5 cm.) high, 12¾ in. (32.3 cm.) wide, 6¼ in. (16 cm.) deep; the third 3 in. (7.6 cm.) high, 9¼ in. (23.5 cm.) wide, 4 7/8 in. (12.4 cm.) deep (3)
