Château Cheval-Blanc--Vintage 1964
Saint-Emilion, 1er grand cru classé (A)
Slightly corroded capsules. One label bin-soiled. Berry Bros slip labels. Levels: two base of neck, three mid/upper and one mid-shoulder
Tasting Note: Picked between 22 September and 9 October. One of the loveliest of all the '64s. Fine and fruity cask sample and steady, invariably pleasant development, 'full, soft, velvety, stylish and rounded' in 1973....Then a well-nigh perfect bottle: harmonious, à point, dry finish at Hugh Johnson's Bordeaux Club dinner, December 2001. M.B.
