Tasting Note: Two cask samples each labelled 'Fonseca Guimaraens', April and July 1996: thick, high extract, intensity, yet smooth. At the Wine Experience 'top 10' tasting in New York, 1998: opaque, intense, with long shapely 'legs'; very rich nose, sweet of course, full body and fruit, lovely velvety texture. With Taylor, the Wine Spectator's joint No 1 '100 Point' wine. Most recently: similarly noted. An immensely impressive wine.
