Excellent appearance. Levels base of neck or better
Tasting Note: Two years after bottling it had generated an almost explosively rich and spicy nose; very sweet, full and packed pf goodies. Leaping over the two next notes, its bouquet was fully developed and its fine texture and length noted (Hollywood Wine Society Mouton presentation, 1998). Alongside its growth peers, it was still fairly deep coloured; bouquet clamouring to get out, opening up rapturously, though I was too aware of the new oak spiciness - attractive but oak, like garlic, should be present but not overdone. Sweet, rich, lively, a touch of leanness and pinched tannin and acidity. Impressive but needs time ***(**) M.B.
