Pomerol, cru exceptionnel
Tasting Note: In 'flight' two of Rodenstock's blind tasting of first growth '94s, '95s, '96s and '97s: medium deep, lovely colour, maturing: good nose, a bit stalky at first but a class act; sweeter than expected (I did not know it was a Petrus), good flavour, extract and assimilated tannin. It received the highest overall (average) mark though the level was remarkably uniform, only 2 points out of 100 separating them, mine being the lower end. March 2001 ***(**) M.B.
