Tasting Note: First tasted in 1998, impressively deep, fairly intense, a certain leanness and masculinity. More recently, very forthcoming nose and I thought, pretty alcoholic; medium dryness and medium-full body. Very straightforward. Once such an uneven performer, Ausone seems to have taken on a new lease of life without losing its distinctive character **** M.B.
