Rectangular, with hinged cover, the sides each set with a portrait miniature on ivory, one, of a girl in a straw hat with flowers, signed "Dumont" the other, of a lady in a white headress, apparently unsigned, the engine-turned ground applied with borders and inscription "SOUVENIR D'AMITIE," now without enamel, marked on bezel with charge of Julien Alaterre, warden's mark, and maker's mark
