The engraved monogram on the cover of this tankard is almost certainly that of Captain William Hallock (1722-1782) of Suffolk County who married Sarah Sexton (1725-1806) of Huntington, Long Island. Hallock was a pickett boat captain during the Revolutionary War. The tankard most likely passed down to one of his sons, Zebulon or Zephaniah, based on the monogram on the handle.
