"This is perhaps the finest example that I have ever had of Grands Echézeaux and it towers over the 750 ml. As with its "little" brother, the nose is explosive and spectacularly complex with a stunning mixture of spice, earth, caramel and definite sous bois notes that lead to sweet, velvety, wonderfully rich and beautifully textured flavors that possess outstanding length. The balance is near perfect and it wasn't even necessary to drink this to enjoy it as the nose is dazzling in every respect. In short, knee bending." BH, March 12, 2005
