Ingrid Bergman
The following four lots, and those included as lots 41-45, were all taken by photographer, Ernest Bachrach. Bachrach grew up influenced by Steichen and one of his first jobs was as a photographer for the Famous Players-Lasky Studios, Long Island from 1923-1927. Gloria Swanson brought Bachrach to Los Angeles where he shot the stills and portraits for her films, later joining RKO Studios as Head of the Photography department from the late 1920s until his retirement in 1956. He was responsible for training a number of Hollywood photographers including Coburn, and has been described as one of the most admired and influential of Hollywood photographers.
