Lot Essay

The Vogue feature, 'The Story of Oh...' caused considerable controversy, much to Newton's delight. This image in particular, far less overtly sexual than much of Newton's work, was deemed shocking for the reversal of roles, with the female model assuming the predatory role as she gazes at the male figure, stripped to the waist.
