The hinged fall front enclosing a fitted interior of pigeon-holes and drawers around a removable section with a panelled door flanked by half columns and with a well, the frieze with simulated panelled drawer, on a shell-centred stand with shell-carved cabriole legs and claw-and-ball feet, one drawer with printed paper label 'LORD CHAMBERLAIN'S OFFICE, ST JAMES'S PALACE, S.W.'
