A REGENCY BRASS MOUNTED MAHOGANY SECRETAIRE BOOKCASE
FIRST QUARTER 19TH CENTURY
Of breakfront outline with a moulded cornice and astragal glazed upper section, the four doors enclosing adjustable shelves, the secretaire drawer enclosing a fitted interior with drawers and pigeon holes and with panelled cupboards below, flanked on each side by five graduated drawers, the angles with tapering turned, reeded and stiff-leaf carved columns and with turned feet, some old damages, the centre drawer lock stamped 'I.BRAMAH PATENT' and with a further handwritten paper label describing the bookcase and its provenance.
