including a silver pair, London 1838 maker's mark J & IH, with tortoiseshell inserts and turn-pin sides, a brass pair with horn inserts and hinged sides, two steel pairs with horn inserts and sides with ring-ends, and another steel pair with tortoiseshell insert and hinged, ring-end sides contained in fishskin-covered case with hook and eye catches (5)
