拍場告示
We are grateful to Michael Campbell for pointing out that the present watercolour was engraved by E.J. Roberts for Friendship's offering and Winter's wreath, Annual, London, 1834, p. 97. The engravings mentioned in the catalogue note are after related versions of the watercolour.

拍品專文

A wonderfully imaginative reconstruction of biblical Jerusalem, with the figures, typically for John Martin, rendered on a diminutive scale. Another version of the watercolour was engraved in a set of four in 1835, and as the sixth of a series of illustrations to the New Testament published the following year.
