LATE CLASSIC, CA. A.D. 550 - 950
standing on small tripod feet with slightly inward-tapering walls, painted against the cream ground in pale and dark orange, black, white, brown and pink, with a palace scene with an elaborately clad dignitary standing before a ruler seated on a dais, and ceremonial hand gesture with left arm extended and hand pointing downward, the right hand flexed with palm open, the corpulent cacique with arms crossed and held at the chest with head turned sharply to the right, lips parted as if in speech and gazing at another richly attired, standing dignitary gesturing with similar hand positions, a series of "pink" glyphs encircling the rim.
