A PAIR OF COPPER-RED-GLAZED STEMBOWLS
YONGZHENG SIX-CHARACTER MARKS AND OF THE PERIOD (1723-1735)

Each, broad rounded bowl raised on a spreading pedestal foot, the exterior covered with a glaze of slightly orange-tinged colour shading to a brighter reddish tone in a line below the rim on one and to a darker tone at the foot rim of each where the glaze has pooled, the interiors glazed white

A Yongzheng copper-red-glazed stembowl of this form was included in the exhibition, Chinese Art from the Collection of James W. and Marilynn Alsdorf, The Arts Club of Chicago, September 21-November 13, 1970, Catalogue no. c61 and later sold in these Rooms, 23 March, 1993, lot 740; a pair form the E.T. Hall Collection was sold in our London rooms, 4 June 2004, lot 115.
