QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER SEALMARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-95)

Of lobed foliate section, the compressed spherical body on a high, slightly splayed foot and surmounted by a tall ribbed neck below an everted rim, covered in a pale smoky greyish-blue glaze with a fine crackle

Compare a similar vase from the National Palace Museum, Taipei, illustrated in the exhibition catalogue Special Exhibition of K'ang-hsi, Yung-cheng and Ch'ien-lung Porcelain Ware from the Ch'ing Dynasty, Taipei, 1986, no. 102. Another from the San Francisco Asian Art Museum is illustrated by He Li, Chinese Ceramics, London, 1996, pl. 523. A pair of similar vases from the J.M.
