A PALE CELADON JADE VASE AND COVER
QING DYNASTY, LATE 18TH/19TH CENTURY

The flattened vase with wide shoulders tapering down to a narrow foot carved as swirling waves, with half-submerged rocks, reeds and lotus flowers emerging from the water, a sparrow perched on a rock and another carved in flight around the waisted neck flanked by a pair of archaistic handles, the translucent celadon stone with small amber inclusions
