QING DYNASTY, 18TH CENTURY

The rectangular plaque finely enamelled to one side with a mountainous landscape where two figures on a path walk towards a river flaked by homes, the reverse depicting a variety scattered floral sprigs and blossoms, lingzhi and bamboo, reserved on an even lavender-blue ground, mounted in a pierced hardwood frame and supported on an elaborate finely carved zitan stand

It is very rare to find cloisonne enamel plaques decorated with landscapes in the style of traditional brush paintings. Compare with another cloisonne enamel plaque copying a segment of an Imperial handscroll painting sold in these Rooms, 30 May 2006, lot 1267.
