A PAIR OF CHINESE ROSEWOOD URN-STANDS
LATE 19TH CENTURY
Each with a marble inset top above foliate carved legs, with the remains of two later blocks to secure vases on the top, the underside of each with a paper label inscribed '51 D.H.M.'
18 in. (46 cm.) high; 16½ in. (42 cm.) diam. (2)
Provenance
Kenwood House, London.
Removed to Scone Palace prior to the auction at Kenwood in 1922.

Lot Essay

Recorded in the Ante Room at Kenwood House in an inventory carried out by C.B. King on 19th February 1910, Vol 1. p.79, item 756, as 'A pair of black hardwood massively carved Chinese flower pot stands with shaped claw feet - 18 inches high (marble tops)'.
