The dressing-mirror's Grecian-stepped plinth combined with gothic buttressed pillars and cusp-arched frame crowned by a crocket gable reflects the robust baronial antique gothic architecture of William Atkinson (d.1839); and relates to that of a large cheval-screen now shown in Scone's Queen Victoria Suite (J. Jauncey, Scone Palace, 2003, p.39)
