The twin-flap top above a frieze drawer to each side, on arcaded end standards and turned legs, the underside stencilled with the initial 'P' (three times), drawer handles lacking, one flap detached

Lot Essay

The bedroom-apartment pembroke-table, with hinged 'candlestick' flaps, Grecian Elizabethan black ribbon inlay and triumphal arched trestles, reflects the handsome baronial antique gothic fashion adopted by the architect William Atkinson (d.1839).
George Bullock used ebony line-inlay in a similar fashion to that seen on this table and lots 400, 401, 402, 403 and 404.
