The chalk inscription on the reverse of the mirror indicates that the mirror once hung in Queen Victoria's suite at Scone Palace. Queen Victoria and Prince Albert stayed at Scone in September 1842. The Queen requested ground floor rooms and three south-facing rooms were duly converted into a boudoir, a bedroom and a dressing room for Prince Albert.
