A fine Charles Bruguier singing bird box
No. 255, inscribed Charles Brugier, rue Des Paquis No. 5 â Geneva on one spring bar and in later (upper case) Restored by G. A. Bidden Barrington R.I. 1964 on the other, with fusee movement actuating multicoloured plumage bird through finely pierced grille, surrounded by C scroll lid border, the lid with enamel scene of a Swiss chalet beside lake, church and vast mountainous landscape beyond, in smaller twist engraved border, in tortoiseshell case with relief gilt start/stop button to the right-hand side, compartment at the back and mid-tone tortoiseshell underside panel, (no key) -3 13/16in. (9.7cm) wide, (two small pitting areas to rear and side panels)
