An unusual doll-in-bed musical automaton
with bisque head and lower arms and hands, weighted eyes, with top-half clothed in pink with lace trim, basic bonnet, lying in box base bed, with padded linen bedcover containing key-wind open-spring movement, two-cam action for doll to rise, lift the arms and tilt head back and forth three times before lowering back to the linen pillow, accompanied by single-air musical movement, placed in (slightly later) beech cot with spindle sides (five missing) and open plank underside, the doll circa 1920 -width of cot 17¼in. (43.8cm)
