Lot Essay

Suzuki Mutsumi was born in Kyoto to a family that has for six generations passed down the tradition of making lacquer works. The decoration on this piece is by Mutsumi's wife, Misako, and was bought in the Suzuki's studio by the current owner in April 1994.
