A RARE EMBELLISHED WALL VASE WITH A TIMEPIECE
QING DYNASTY, CIRCA 1780
The watch signed Romilly, Paris with a white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, surrounded by a facetted paste and pearl-set bezel, set into the centre of the elaborately embellished wall-vase inlaid with a mosaic of irregular-shaped sapphire blue coloured glass, above a pair of crossed floral sprigs, the contours of the vase defined with further seed-pearls and red glass borders, the integral stand picked out in emerald-green glass, the bronze backplate engraved with whimsical arabesques on a partially hatched ground
