The exterior of the washer finely carved in shallow relief with a band of taotie masks evenly dividing opposing pairs of kui dragons, and a band of the Eight Buddhist Emblems below the mouth rim, supported on bats in flight as the base of the vessel, the translucent white stone of even tone with areas of opaque speckles
