Circular box, the hinged cover bearing a coat-of-arms, the interior cover painted with a water fountain and reeds in purple camaïeu, front and rear of the bombé sides painted with two cartouches of Watteauesque young lovers seated in a landscape and rocaille scrolls, the outside and inside of base painted with shell and reeds in purple camaïeu, reeded gold mounts with incorporated slighly raised rocaille thumbpiece
