This watch is accompanied by the Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of this watch in 1989 and its subsequent sale on 13 July 1989.

Patek Philippe produced the Ref. 3960 to celebrate the company's 150th Anniversary in April 1989 in a limited edition of 2000 pieces in yellow gold, 150 pieces in white gold and 50 pieces in platinum.
