Lot Essay

This drawing is one of four known studies for the cover of 'Launch, A Lifeboat Book', by General Seely, published in 1932 by Hodder & Stoughton, with an Introduction written by the Prince of Wales. Brangwyn designed the cover as a gift to the Lifeboat Institution.
