STYLE OF QIU YING (1495-1552), 18TH CENTURY
a scroll painting, in ink and colours on silk, depicting a continuous scene of daily life, with farmers working the land and tradesmen travelling on horseback and in wagons on the banks of a busy river, with a variety of boats laden with goods sailing towards a bridge and the entrance to a walled city, the streets within packed with tradesmen selling their wares along the alleyways and in shop fronts, with villagers at leisure watching acrobats and puppeteers and in gardens within walled compounds -- 11¼in. x 230in. (28.5cm. x 584.2xm.), signed and with one seal, mounted as a handscroll with silk end cover.
