A celadon jade scabbard slide, Han dynasty (206 BC-AD 220)
of slightly curved rectangular form with a rectangular loop on the underside, the top curved in low relief and incised with C-scrolls terminating in a mythical beast mask dominated by striated brows above bulging eyes, the stone of pale celadon tone with russet and yellow inclusions -- 2 13/16in. (7.1cm.) long.
