A cloisonne altar vessel, 19th century
with a tall tapering cylindrical neck, surmounted by a tray with a flaring lappet rim, supported on a tall stepped and splayed foot, variously enamelled with bands of shou characters above lotus scrolls alternating with bats above pendant wan motifs, lotus scrolls alternating with shou roundels, foliate scrolls, lappets, and C scrolls, all reserved on turquoise ground, the foot terminating in a gilt band with a foliate floral scroll -- 12 9/16in. (31.8cm.) high.
