A pair of large famille rose globular vases, first half 20th century
the globular body enamelled with quatrefoil cartouches enclosing figures amidst pagodas and trees in a mountainous and river landscapes, reserved on a blue ground with lotus blossoms between shou characters and musical stones, all framed by borders of lotus petal panels and ruyi-heads, the high rounded shoulders with shou roundels and bats amidst cloud scrolls, below the waisted neck with lotus and pomegrante blossoms above key-fret and stiff leaf bands surmonuted by the everted lappet-shaped rim with a ruyi-head border, the neck applied with a pair of mythical beast ring handles, supported on a stepped and splayed foot with foliate and pomegranate scrolls, the interior and base turquoise glazed -- maximum 26¾in.
