EINSTEIN, Albert (1879-1955). Autograph letter and autograph postcard signed ('Papa') to his eldest son, Hans Albert, and his wife, Frieda, [Berlin] and Zurich, 23 March and 14 August 1929, the brief letter referring to a printed facsimile on the verso of a poem by Einstein written on his 50th birthday (14 March 1929) and looking forward to seeing them for a forthcoming visit, the postcard reporting on a happy visit to Zurich, using the opportunity of the 16th Zionist Congress in the city, and looking forward to returning to his new country house at Kaputh outside Berlin, together with a 'proud sailing boat', which was also a 50th birthday present; the card encloses autograph greetings from Einstein's first wife, Mileva, and younger son, Eduard; together two pages, 8vo (postcard evenly browned) with two envelopes, one with greetings on verso from Ilsa Einstein.
