Prouvé was commissioned by the architects Emile and Jacques André to design the entrance doors, staircase rails, a window and exhibition display cases for the Musée de Zoologie in Nancy. All three models of the cases he executed for the museum feature an innovative tube-shaped hinge which runs along the entire length of the case.
