De forme ovale se terminant par des poignées en forme de tiki, la surface de la boîte décorée de motifs géométriques incisés et d'une grande tête de tiki au centre de chaque côte, le couvercle recouvert des mêmes motifs géométriques avec une arête centrale creusée. Ancienne patine sombre et brillante. Manque.

We have been unable to find any close parallels for this fine and highly unusual treasure box. The style of the figure handles, the rare inclusion of large masks on the sides together with the apparently ancient patination seem to suggest a very early date.
