Vase shaped and on a square beaded base with panel feet, with two reeded scroll handles and a reeded spout with ivory handle, the detachable cover with a bud finial, the body engraved with a coat-of-arms, the cover engraved with a crest, marked on bezel of base, under body and on cover bezel

The arms are those of Heygate with a martlet for difference for a fourth son, implaing Unwin, for James Heygate (1747-1833), of Aldermanbury of the City of London and his wife Sarah (d.1801), second daughter of Samuel Unwin of Sutton-in-Ashfield, co. Nottingham, whom he married in 1781. James Heygate was the fourth son of James Heygate of West Haddon, co. Northampton. The eldest son of James and Sarah Heygate, William Heygate was an Alderman of the City of London and M.P. for Sudbury. He was Lord Mayor of London in 1822 and created a baronet in 1831.
