MARK OF JOHN KINCARD, EDINBURGH, 1746, ASSAY MASTER ARCHIBALD URE
Bullet shaped and on spreading foot, engraved at the shoulder with a band of guilloche, shells, scrolls and scalework, with a wood insulated handle, the hinged domed cover with a ball finial, engraved with a coat-of-arms and underneath with a cypher, marked underneath, the base further engraved with a scratchweight '24"10'
6 in. (15 cm.) high
gross weight 23 oz. (710 gr.)
The arms are those of Macleod of Cadboll, co. Ross.
