Circular, the detachable cover applied with a medal after J. G. Waechter within radiating star and scalework border, depicting profiles of the Grand Duke Pavel Petrovich and Grand Duchess Maria Feodorovna, the base applied with a medal with rays emanating from the inscription 'Holy Family' over allegoriacal figures of Faith, Hope and Charity in a landscape, with a Russian inscription below, commemorating the birth of the Grand Duke Konstantin Pavlovich, within similar borders, the sides with scalework, with engraved entwined borders, the interior with later inscription, marked inside cover and base

The medal by J. G. Waechter was made in commemoration of the wedding of Grand Duke Pavel Petrovich (later Paul I), son of Catherine the Great to Princess Sophia Dorothea of Württemberg (who took the name Maria Feodorovna) on September 26th, 1776. The Russian inscription inside the medal on the cover reads 'Grand Duke Pavel Petrovich and Grand Duchess Maria Feodorovna', the inscription on the medal in the base refers to their son: 'Grand Duke Konstantin was born in the Tsarskoe Selo on the 27th day of April, 1779'.
