The saint on a rearing horse, wearing rich armour and a long cape, plunging his spear into the mouth of the serpent, the rescued princess Elisaba at the far right, painted realistically, with a gold and silver-plated oklad, the serpent in niello, the border decorated with geometric and foliate motifs
