The serene face of Christ rendered realistically, framed by his shoulder-length hair and a soft beard, gazing directly at the onlooker, blessing and displaying the open Gospels, inscribed in Greek minuscule with the verse from John 8:12 'I am the light of the World', dressed in a red chiton with a light blue himation on the top, the hems with golden decorative strips, the dedication at the lower left with white letters mostly erased
