FIRST EDITION. Scheiner invented the pantograph, an instrument for copying plans on any scale, during 1603-5 while he was training as a teacher in Dillingen. His results were published in the above work in 1631. Loosely inserted in this copy is a price list for precision pantographs, Special-Preisliste der Präcisions-Pantographen mit freischwebenden Armen, nebst Anleitung zum Gebrauch derselben. Cicognara 658: "Quest' opera fu la prima che ci presentasse completo l'uso del Pantografo".
