[EGERTON, Michael]. Matrimonial Ladder! or Such things are. [London:] Pyall & Hunt, January 1825. Small 4° (184 x 139mm). Hand-coloured aquatint title and 19 illustrations by G. Hunt after Michael Egerton on continuous panoramic strip (a few imprints cropped, some light staining). Folding into contemporary brown paper boards (upper board detached, spine worn).
Abbey Life 292 (note); cf. Colas 939: "Ces planches représent des scènes de genre avec modes masculines et féminines de l' époque." Abbey suggests this reprint should bear the imprint "Hunt & Pyall" on the plates. Our copy, however, has the imprint "Thos. McLean" throughout, with the exception of the last 3 plates which do indeed bear the imprint called for by Abbey.
