Tipped-in at the front is a letter from Auguste Forel to Macleod Yearsley, praising his translation, a note from the dedicatee of the translation, Lord Avebury, a photograph of Forel with his signature visible through a cut-away on verso, and a letter from ?Edward Clodd to the translator, discussing the work. A letter (signature illegible) tipped-in at the end, dated 1906, discusses a reading of Forel's original paper. In addition, our copy is signed "Macleod Yearsley, 1908" (translator of the work into English) on the title page.
