Autograph letter signed (as Teresa, Marquise de Boissy) to an unidentified recipient ('Monsieur'), Settinello, near Florence, 15 September 1869, in French, condemning an article by Harriet Beecher Stowe ('la Romancière Yankee'), as a 'mensonge aussi odieuse que palpable et indecente' which uses the pretext of defending Lady Byron to commit an outrageous attack on the memory of Lord Byron, promising at some future date to prove that she herself had only left her family under a condition imposed by the Pope, and it was only 'accidentellement' that she found herself thereafter living under the same roof as Lord Byron, 7 pages, 8vo, on bifolia.
Harriet Beecher Stowe (of Uncle Tom's Cabin fame) had written an article in Macmillan's Magazine, 1869, affirming that Lady Byron had told her of Byron's incest with his half-sister Augusta, and also revealing details of Byron's relationship with Teresa Guiccioli.
